Abstract

For answering the question if the pedestrian really has a chance when crossing the road, an analysis must be made to the behaviour of the other road users, and in particular to the automobile driver. The behaviour of the driver must be judged from the psychological point of view for his motivations and driving aptitudes. The hypothesis is given that drivers which tend to a feeling of superiority, do not give priority significantly at pedestrian crossings.
