Die Unfallbeteiligung von Kleintransportern mit einem zulaessigen Gesamtgewicht ueber 2,8 t bis 3,5 t hat in den vergangenen Jahren aehnlich wie der Bestand dieser Fahrzeuggruppe stark zugenommen. Das Bundesministerium fuer Verkehr, Bau- und Wohnungswesen (BMVBW) hat die Bundesanstalt fuer Strassenwesen (BASt) beauftragt, das Unfallgeschehen von Kleintransportern zu untersuchen. Als Vergleichsgruppen wurden Kleintransporter bis 2,8 t und Lkw ueber 3,5 t bis 7,5 t, fuer einzelne Fragestellungen auch Pkw herangezogen. Die Arbeit zeigt, dass bis zum Jahr 2001 ein kontinuierlich starker Anstieg der Unfallbeteiligung von Kleintransportern ueber 2,8 t bis 3,5 t stattgefunden hat. Dieser starke Anstieg setzt sich danach bis zum Jahr 2003 nicht mehr fort. Fahrern von Kleintransportern ueber 2,8 t bis 3,5 t wurde durch die Polizei ueberdurchschnittlich haeufig die Hauptschuld am Unfall zugewiesen. (A) ABSTRACT IN ENGLISH: The number of accidents involving light goods vehicles with a total permissible weight more than 2.8 t to 3.5 t has increased in recent years, as has the volume of this vehicle group. The Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Housing has appointed the Federal Highway Research Institute to examine the accident profile of these vehicles. Comparison groups comprise light goods vehicles up to 2.8 t, goods vehicles more than 3.5 t to 7.5 t and - in particular cases - passenger cars. The results show that until 2001 the number of light goods vehicles more than 2.8 t to 3.5 t involved in accidents increased continually. After that, the upward trend flattens out until 2003. In the majority of cases the drivers of these light goods vehicles more than 2.8 t to 3.5 t were found to be mainly responsible for the accidents by the police.
