Abstract

This paper describes the application of a new high performance data broadcasting system (DAB) to Travel Information Services (TIS). A brief description of DAB is provided first. This includes details about: a) its origin; b) basic principles; c) design; and d) configurability. The methods used for information coding are also presented. The reasons why DAB would be applicable to Travel Information Service provision are also presented.
