Abstract

The JARI ITS Center has been engaged in the surveillance study for the standardization of inter-vehicle communication(IVC) systems from FY2002 until FY2005, as a part of the ITS Standardization Project, commissioned by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. In FY2004 and FY2005, it conducted an evaluation of the field performances of relay functions in IVC overthe 5.8GHz band. In this paper, the IVC relay tests on a road surrounded by buildings and on a road in residential district, and the simulation of relay functions in case the number of communicating vehicles increases, are outlined. The availability and suspected problems of relay functions, based upon the data obtained, are described. For the covering abstract see ITRD E134653.
