TRB Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, No. 2049 includes 21 papers that examine the relationship between transit's usual and actual mode shares, errors in real-time estimation of travel times, prototype information system for estimating average vehicle occupancies from traffic accident records, sampling schemes for weigh-in-motion traffic data collection, and examining changes in traffic volume pattern during holiday periods. This issue also explores regional traffic data for the Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide, accuracy of design hourly volume estimates, considering weather conditions in estimating missing traffic data, travel time prediction, piecewise inverse speed correction by using individual travel times, sensor locations for reliable travel time prediction, Bayesian updating of transferred household travel data, and evaluation of voluntary travel behavior change programs.
