Abstract

The Algemene Autohulpdienst Rotterdam is a unique phenomenon in the Netherlands; an alternative transport system for disabled persons for - in the beginning - the tariff for public transport. The local authority financed the system. The set up, organization, the development and the results of the system are discussed. It is shown that also here exists the conflict between a desirable transport capacity and the financial possibilities to realise it.
