Abstract

It is to be expected that the number of accident on auto-free Sundays will be lower than on other Sundays, but the number will not be zero. Furthermore there will be a shift of accidents in which only fast traffic is involved to accidents in which only slow traffic is involved. There will be a shift from accidents on Sunday, to accidents on Saturday and Monday. An auto-free Sunday gives a benefit for traffic safety, but measures must be taken for the other days.
