Abstract

This paper deals with the possibilities for the realisation of an urban quarter without cars. It is a new to be built housing area, which must be big enough to have a reasonable level of services (shops, etc). Such a study handles with many aspects. In this paper attention is paid to: population structure, the transportation needs, the safe quarding of the carless character and the savings in space and costs.
