Abstract

Accessibility is considered in four different ways: as the number of car-trips leaving the centre in 1975 and 1980, as travel times, as a behavioural accessibility measure and, finally, as a regional accessibility, being the service area of the city centre, this is the number of inhabitants potentially orientated on the city centre. This number has decreased less than might have been expected considering the reduction of employment in the city centre.
