The computer alone certainly cannot solve the traffic problems. By traffic regulating measures the level of traffic control in town should be improved and made more clear; then the latest feasibilities for increasing the capacity by the introduction of a computer controlled traffic signalisation can be fully exploited. The development of traffic engineering views has lagged behind the technical development of the apparatus for traffic signalization. In his final remark the author includes the calculation programme among the other conditions for well-coordinated systems.
