In a treatise about the relationship between transport and economic growth, the process of economic growth must be at the centre where besides transport also other factors play a rol. To that end, the MOBILEC (MOBILity/EConomy) model is used. The model describes the relationship between economy, mobility, infrastructure and other regional features. On the basis of this model, production elasticities of different transport modes are quantified by region for determining their importance for economic growth. Then, simulations of the growth of the economy and mobility are carried out with the help of the model, on the basis of four scenarios with regard to dynamic equilibrium in the economy, transport conditions and environment. The result shows to what extent transport policy can contribute to economic growth. (A) For the covering abstract of the conference see ITRD E206647.
