Abstract

The local transport company of the city of Amsterdam is calibrating the transport network step by step. Not only optimalization of the existing network is done, but also new combinations of products and target groups are studied and new markets are looked for. The paper discusses three new products (1) the MOVERS; (2) the inter urban night transport lines; and (3) the Westpoorttaxi. The MOVER is a direct, quick and just on time transport especially for young people between the ages of 12 and 14, going to school. The inter urban night transport is made by buses driving on the public highway or on a special bus lane, for the people living in the region and go out for an evening in the city. The Westpoorttaxi is a minibus for 2 to 8 city. The Westpoorttaxi is a minibus for 2 to 8 passengers driving from the railway station to the Westpoort industrial area mainly in the peak hours and on demand by telephone.
