Abstract

The driving speed and in particular the excessive driving speed of drivers, is considered as one of the factors contributing to traffic accidents over the last few years. High driving speeds are also considered to be an undesired burden for the environment. The governments traffic and transport policy aims therefore to control speed. In many countries much research has been done on methods and strategies which influence the speed behaviour of drivers. This report shows an overview of the current theoretical and practical insights of these methods and strategies.
