Abstract

The investment needed for public transport on a regional scale is very big. The total amount of all the needed investments is much higher than the available money. Therefore, priorities have to been set. For preference by a standard method which can compare the projects and the different variables mutually. However, there is not such a method in The Neterlands available. A method used in Germany was evaluated and simplified for the application for some public transport variables in the province of South Holland. This report describes the calculations with the modified method for the new proposed Delfy-line, a public transport line in the neighbourhood of the city of Delft. In this concerning area a new residential area with about 40.000 residents will be constructed.
