This study uses the German method of assessing public transport investments in a public transport project in the province of South Holland. Using this method, it is possible to assess social benefits (and costs) for a certain public transport project. The German evaluation method appeared to be very useful in this case study. The method gives a good assessment of possible public transport investments. The method necessitates the use of a system in which all important aspects are dealt with. Some important data were unavailable for the Dutch case studies. Therefore some estimations to fill in the gaps were made. (A)
