Abstract

Dutch people are buying more and more cheap asian bicycles instead of dutch solid, reliable bicycles. The dutch manufacturers must promote their bicycles more and make clear that a bicycle is not a form of transport for the "poor" but a product that is solid, reliable and represents an interesting life- style. Also innovations in design of the framework and promotion activities in the Netherlands and foreign countries, with emphasis on the reliability of the dutch product, are suggested.
