Abstract

In order to create a sufficient demand for public transport the government should create densely populated residential areas and separate business and industrial areas which stimulates commuting. The legal aspects of decision making in public transport planning are reviewed. It is concluded that the government is responsible for the integration of town and country planning and public transport planning considering the growth in demand for public transport.
