Abstract

At Planologisch Studie Centrum TNO a model to forecast interregional migration is being developed. In Holland the provinces are important from a policy point of view and some population forecasting models use the provincial subversion of the country. Consequently, information on the interprovincial migration flows is needed. It can be provided by either, calibrating the model on a system of regions that respects the provincial boundaries, or by deriving the interprovincial figures from migration forecasts available for an alternative system of housingmarket regions, using some extra information.
