Abstract

Choice travellers choose for their regional journey to work predominantly the train (70 to 80%) if the work location is situated on a short walking distance from the arrival station (and if the train is a realistic alternative of course). This result form previous research makes the question interesting whether a good connecting local public transport on the work side could considerably extend the area of train preference. As research-situation Rotterdam-Central railway station and the connecting metro is chosen.
