Abstract
Land use influences passenger mobility in a rather complex way, making research on this subject also complex. This paper indicates ways of categorizing studies on the impact of land use on transport, and reviews empirical studies and model simulation studies on the impact of land use on passenger transport mobility. It concludes that several methodological improvements can be made. However, these improvements are relatively expensive. A cost-benefit analysis may be useful in choosing desired methodological improvements. (A)
