The Korvelseweg, a main road through the centre of Tilburg was redesigned and reconstructed, with the aim to improve the ability of living with traffic by decreasing the level of traffic, but not at the cost of the economic functions of the present shops and industries. It is shown that the reconstruction had lead to an improvement of this economic functioning. On the whole can be stated that the reconstruction and redesigning has been a success, but the average speed should be under the 30 km /h and cyclists and car drivers should use the same lane in a safe way.
