Abstract

The 1986 and 1987 costs of traffic jams on the main road network in the Netherlands are calculated, based on different value of time scenarios. They show driver and passenger costs to be the largest as compared to other variables. The costs involved, for jams only, are about 320 million for 1986 and 330 million for 1987.
