Abstract
To minimize generalized cost of maintenance including that of maintenance interventions and also that of breakdowns and operating disorders, two complementary methods can be applied. The first is based on acquired experience and on test results. It applies chiefly when servicing and safety are concerned. The other is based on the conclusions of reliability surveys. It applies on parts and units.
