Abstract
Durability requires that the total of all social activities will be durable, traffic and transport included. This requires a number of applications of the different transport modes. To come and to stay within the requirements of the environment, the environmental taxes of transport modes should be decreased drastically, while on the other side other transport modes than the car should have a greater part in the environment. The slow transport modes and public transport should be used more. The government shoud reconsider their policy and the public transport companies should more propagate their relative profit for the environment to the government and to their users.
