Abstract

In this article, an evaluation model for intermodal inland terminals is proposed. The aim of the methodology is to assist decision makers (government agencies) with the evaluation of new intermodal terminal projects. The goals of the following economic actors involved in the location of a new terminal are taken into consideration: the users, the terminal operators, the investors, and the society as a whole. The Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method forms the basis for the analysis of this multi-actor/multi-criteria problem. An application of the methodology is shown for the evaluation of inland waterway terminal. (A)
