Abstract

Currently the Dienst Verkeerskunde (DVK) of Rijkswaterstaat is developing the New Regional Model (NRM). The NRM will be built up of four main modules: BASMAT (BASisMATrices), Growth model, Applicator and Evaluation module. Recently DVK has commissioned TNO Institute of Spatial Organization (INRO-TNO) and Bureau Goudappel Coffeng (BGC) to develop the 'Applicator'. The main goal of the 'Applicator' is to offer the user in the regions the instrument to calculate the effects of the regional policy measures. The Applicator will contain two main parts, the Matrix manipulator and the Assignment module. The Matrix manipulator will be used to calculate mutation in the base year and base scenario situation. The base year situation is described using the BASMAT methodology. The base scenario is calculated using the Growth model. Trips will be used for the Assignment module. At this moment a start has been made with the first phase in the development. The first Version 1.0 is planned to be available mid 1993.
