Abstract
Updated 1978 data from the base for calculations for 1980. The authors conclude that in this two-year period fuel costs rose sharply, but total costs of car usage kept almost pace with inflation. Car usage itself did not change significantly. The decrease in personal income started after 1980 and could not yet affect the results of this study.
