Abstract

A descriptive-statistical analysis of urban road network is presented. The size and structure of the road system in six Dutch towns of different size and character are determined. The size of a road network is expressed by the number of network elements, i.e. intersections, road sections and cells. The structure of a road network is mainly measured by the distribution of intersections by degree.
