Abstract

In the past fifteen years a great many experiences have been obtained in the Netherlands in constructing and applying urban models. Most of these models were developed as an operational tool in urban policy-making. The present paper provides a description of the changes that have appeared in methods and techniques used in traffic demand analysis and a general framework is sketched, in which all the urban models developed so far in the Netherlands can be placed, with a special view on urban traffic analysis.
