Abstract

The traffic hump is a wittingly constructed irregularity in the road surface with the aim to limit the speed of the motor traffic on that road surface. The effect of the traffic hump is based on the decrease of the comfort for the road user. A study is made to the disign and construction of traffic humps with the aid of computer simulations and test. A hump of 366 meter long and 10 com high caused for all vehicles an uncomfortable performance for speeds higher than 32 km/h.
