Abstract
In this literature review are considered some possible ways of influencing the behaviour of the road users in such a way that conflicts between motorised traffic and slow traffic are decreased. Emphasis will be laid on pedestrian safety. Successively a number of provisions for crossing pedestrians (such as pedestrian crossings, pedestrian bridges and tunnels for slow traffic), legal measures and their enforcement, initiatives in the area of education, and publicity campaigns are presented.
