Abstract

In the second part of the literature review on pedestrian safety the effect of measures in the field of urban infrastructure is considered. After an introduction, the following are presented successively: the relation between pedestrian accidents and the urban infrastructures; variables regarding the pedestrian; criteria for measures to be taken for town planning; pedestrian networks; reconstruction of the existing road network in residential areas and some possible measures on micro or macro-level. In the last chapter a swedish and a dutch method for the determination of hazardous behaviour are discussed. For part I see B 13503.
