Research was carried out in the city of Assen into the safety of cyclists and into the condition of this bicycles. The condition of the bicycles was studied in comparison with the age of the owner of the bicycles and in comparison with the time of the day, evening and morning. The use of side- reflectors and the use of reflectorizing material by the cyclists are taken into account. Besides the measurements an interview was held.
