Abstract

Drivers on emergency vehicles (ambulances, fire engines, police cars) which have to fulfil an urgent task and which make use of particular competencies, show often a driving behaviour with an increased risk. Each year more than hundred victims are killed or injured in accidents in which emergency vehicles are involved. A specialized driver training and an improvement in driving behaviour is stressed just as a more stringent application of the specifications.
