Abstract

For a sequence of pulse pairs, with each second pulse attenuated, the threshold of perceptibility of Repetition Pitch has been determined as a function of the pulse interval, the pulse pair interval T and the bandpass centre frequency f. The ability of the hearing organ to correlate is also manifest in the behaviour of the threshold of perceptibility of pitch for periodic white noise masked by white noise. For the former as well as for the latter type of signals the threshold of perceptibility of pitch appears to obey a simple model of weighted autocorrelation.
