Abstract

The urgency of the need for seat belt usage laws is discussed along with the lack of responsiveness by public officials in encouraging them. Benefits of belt usage are cited, as well as political factors in decision making processes It is suggested that public decisions must be based on the good and welfare of the people, not on illogical, emotional pressures.
