Abstract

Rear-end collisions are about 25% of all highway crashes, but are a class of collision which is probably more amenable for treatment than others. During the last decade a substantial number of studies have been completed concerned with the effectiveness of vehicle rear lighting and signalling. This paper provides an overview of some of the marking and signalling research since 1967.
