Abstract

DEKRA AG is a large organisation, with some 6,000 employees, offering technical expert reports focusing on the reconstruction of road traffic accidents and technical investigation of vehicles involved. The comprehensive database has recently been improved to the entire driver - vehicle - environment. co-operation with forensic science institutes has led to provision of maximum coverage of the medical and biomedical aspects of accident research. The reports analysing traffic accidents are supplemented by additional information and data of a chiefly non-technical nature. This takes place either directly after the accident or retrospectively with efforts made to meet the demands of an integrated system of accident research. A number of actual project examples are described to outline the content and evaluation potential of the database.
