Abstract

The development of a queuing model to approximate the behaviour of vehicles in a combined right turning lane at an unsignalised intersection is presented. Numerical results for average delay probabilities are given for a wide range of flow conditions. The model is also used to develop warrants for special right-turning lanes and the solution is discussed in the light of capacity reduction and possible lane utilisation.
