Abstract

From 14.000 men who died at least three year after their military service in Vietnam the cause of death was studied. Suicide was the first cause followed by death from motor- vehicle accidents (8%). It is not sure how much vehicle accidents were suicide. The study shows that there is a large group of men with an increased risk of premature death, which may be partly preventable.
