Abstract

Delays to traffic caused by goods vehicles operating in urban areas may be classified into groups depending on the cause- manoeuvring, double-parking when traffic volumes are both low and high, and slowness of heavy vehicles. The results and observations made on goods traffic in Pretoria are presented and some simplified methods for the estimation of delays are shown.
