Abstract

The objective is to outline the journey the City of Port Phillip has embarked on over the past six years in developing and managing the change towards the provision of a truly sustainable transport service. The paper is structured on the three key themes that were instrumental in the City moving towards a sustainable transport future: political commitment to policy; framework to deliver policy; and funding mechanisms. A number of examples of sustainable transport outcomes delivered during the past few years are also highlighted.
