Abstract

Problems and issues of travel demand forecasting were reviewed in the context of current methodological procedures. Conclusions based on a state-of-the-art study of long-range transportation planning are presented. Several issues of long-range and contemporary travel demand forecasting methodology which requires improvement are listed and discussed. It is decided that transportation impacts should be classed by groups affected rather than by type of measure.
