Abstract

The update is given of a previous study (July 1970- December 1972) concerning data of demerit points of different groups of drivers. The list of any conviction, and collisions for each driver was divided into nine six month intervals (July 1970 - December 1974). It was possible to estimate the number of demerit points outstanding at the beginning of each interval. Violations were classified in one of eight types. Information is given to the following items: update of drivers ' original records; stability of drivers' behaviour; and short terms predictions of future collisions.
