Abstract

In the Norwegian Travel Survey 2013/14 about 60 000 persons from 13 years have been interviewed. The survey provides information on transport resources and travel activity. In 2013/14 the average citizen made 3.26 trips per day. The average distance is 14,5 km, an increase from 2009, and time use per trip is 23 minutes. Most trips are short, 39 percent is less than three km. The car as a driver is used on 55 percent of the trips, 8 percent as car passenger, 21 on foot, 10 by public transport and 5 percent by bike. In average the citizens undertook 1.5 long trips (100 km or longer one-way or abroad) previous month. Car is used for 58 percent of long trips. On the long holyday trips aboard 65 percent are made by plane. (Author/publisher)
