Abstract

The work presented in this paper analyses and calculates the interrelationship between the intensity of traffic and conflicts together with the traffic flow at a location in a road network. The number of locations where the ratio of conflict is high may indeed influence the sum of accidents but it is argued that the intensity of the traffic at these conflict points is a more significant factor. The paper also presents the analysis of certain forms of conflicts on traffic safety.
