Abstract

The DIATS project, funded under the European Fourth Framework pogramme, is assessing the `most-likely' deployment scenarios for inter- and peri-urban based, co-operative, Advanced Transport Telematics (ATT) systems. This paper presents a review of the project progress, particularly with respect to the implementation scenarios for Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). The results of a Delphi study of the most-likely implementation scenarios are presented. The paper also discusses the behavioural, safety and legal implications of implementing new scenarios which incorporate ACC.
