Abstract

Advanced Driver Assistance (ADA) or Automated Vehicle Guidance systems can provide innovative solutions for today's problems of traffic. This paper considers not only ADA systems for passenger cars but also for freight transport and public transport. Three deployment scenarios are presented for these modes of transport to provide a view on the possible future of ADA systems within each mode of transport. The scenarios are also presented to start up the process of integration and harmonization of ADA systems for all modes of transport. The paper describes the results from the EU-DG XIII project AHSEA/ADASE. (A*)
