Abstract

Reports made in one year (1968-69) by the Red Cross in Austria are analyzed. It is shown that the important criterion for efficiency is the time taken for the ambulance to receive the call, reach the sick or injured person, and convey him to the hospital. To reduce communication time to a minimum all ambulances have to be fitted with a radio system.
