Abstract

Results of an interview of the population in the demonstration project "Molenkampjes" in the village of Heerde are presented. The project is done with governmental financing for research into the reconstruction and reclassification of residential areas. Conclusions are that the speed limit of the motorised traffic and moped traffic has not been realised; the restraining of through traffic, especially rat-run traffic, has succeeded; traffic safety is improved in the opinion of the pedestrians, but has got worse in the opinion of car drivers; hindrance by parking is decreased, and the mobility of the weaker road users has improved. The positive expectations of the residents before the project started have only been partially realised.
